Fencing is a combat sport that combines offense and defense simultaneously. Sometimes called "physical chess," it is as much a battle of wits as one of athleticism - you must possess not just the speed to strike or withdraw from your opponent, but the cunning to surprise or trick your way past their guard. In this class, we will practice footwork (where we practice moving in space like a fencer), bladework (where we practice controlling our blade), and fencing (where we combine both elements and face an opponent). Together, we will hone our athleticism and tactical problem-solving, learn from losing, and discover how to uplift those around us.
For ages 8-12.
All students must sign a Waiver & Release of Liability form before the start of class in order to attend. Upon enrollment, a link to the form will be included in the order confirmation email.
Note: In the event a scheduled session cannot be held, a prorated refund for that session will not be issued. The College will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the session prior to confirming cancellation.
