Performance Skills for Singers    NEW!

Got butterflies? Are you standing still with your eyes closed when you sing or only singing in the car? Performance is more than sound it also includes calming your nerves, engaging the audience, moving and using the whole stage. In this interactive class you’ll get to try techniques that help you connect with your emotions and the audience while mastering your nerves. Learn how to work the stage, use the mic as you gain the confidence to have eye contact. You'll also learn how singing on video differs from singing live, how to work the camera and connect with your virtual audience. All levels and genres welcome. Come prepared to sing! Your performance coach is former Bay Area rock & jazz vocalist Jenn Flaa. For more information, visit www.jennflaa.net. See Jenn work the stage when her band Urban Fiction performs live at the Prescott Courthouse Tuesday, 7/27 6:30-8:30 pm.

“I am a cover band musician who has struggled a bit with audience engagement over the years - bad habits, I guess.  After taking Jenn's class, I auditioned to be the Lead Singer/Frontman for a Classic Rock band.  The other band members were in their 20's and I am almost 59!  What I thought was going to be a courtesy audition turned into a hiring!  The band leader described my engagement skills as being critical to their choosing "Grandpa Frontman."

“If not for Jenn's training and exercises for audience engagement, I would still be singing in my shower at home!  Thanks Jenn!"
