This workshop takes place at the instructor’s home art studio, and allows for a personal exploration into the idea of hand-building with clay as a doorway to the spirit. Art making is inherently spiritual and spirituality is an important ingredient in becoming more whole. This workshop is designed to explore the idea of creating art as a spiritual practice, a way to access the divine and to foster healing and wholeness. The visual dimension of art and the visceral experience of creating has a wisdom of its own, a healing power, and the potential for connection with the divine that words cannot achieve. Projects will be inspired by spiritual and ritual objects. No previous experience with clay is required. Basics of hand-building will be covered. (Class on 10/24 will meet 9:30 am - 1:30 pm.)
