Hike and Explore the Hassayampa   NEW!

Download full itinerary.

Friday, April 13, 2018.

Please reserve by March 30.

The middle section of the Hassayampa River, which drains the west side of the Bradshaw Mountains south of Prescott, is a beautiful, interesting and little-visited area. Spend the day exploring along the river (generally east of Wilhoit) including several short hikes, totaling about three miles. One of the hikes has a short and rugged (optional) scramble at the end. Explore canyon narrows, with waterfalls, historic hydraulic mining areas, prehistoric settlements along the river and take a moderate hike (about two miles) into "The Bend" of the Hassayampa. Archaeology, history, geology and ecology of the area will be discussed. Activity Rating: 2 or 3.

Instructor: Chris Wuehrmann.

$145 per person - Trip discounts do not apply. (Includes transportation, field instruction, and box lunch.) Departs 8AM from Prescott campus.
