Community Ed - Prescott
Elder fraud and financial abuse is becoming dramatically more prevalent. As American’s age increases, so does the deception. The results are painful: billions of dollars in losses and significant consequences for the elderly and their families. This class will examine the full spectrum of elder financial fraud and abuse ranging from investment scams, lottery schemes, identity theft, credit card misuse and forged checks, and phishing schemes. Emphasis will be placed on the common underlying traits that all these schemes have in common. Students should expect outcomes that will empower them to protect themselves and their communities. Special appearance from a representative from Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.
