Create delicious arts and crafts projects, using sweet and savory ingredients. Discover how to use edible “paint”, “glue”, “modeling clay”, and a variety of edible loose parts as we engage in the creative process together. Sample categories and activities include: “Edible Works of Art” (mosaic art, abstract art, sculptures); “Out of This World!” (aliens, spaceships, and fun challenges); and “Just for Fun!” (creating edible puzzles; and fooling your friends with “fake-out” foods, like “burgers and fries”). All projects are no-bake, easy to prepare, and can be used as fun afterschool (or anytime) treats. Related books and resources will be shared.

Did you know that Spanish is the 4th most spoken language in the WORLD? And if you speak English and Spanish, you can communicate with most of the people on 2 entire CONTINENTS? So let’s start you on your journey to becoming bilingual! In this class we will use games, songs, and crafts to learn some basic Spanish vocabulary, such as colors, numbers, food and animals. We’ll take a break each day about half-way through class, and have theme-related snacks based on the new vocabulary learned that day. You are also welcome to bring your own snack, and please bring a water bottle labeled with your name to keep hydrated!

Come and create some simple crafts that are WEARable, HANGable, USEable, and (be careful!) BREAKable, and maybe even, EDible! Jewelry, window ornaments, watercolor and wooden boxes are among the crafts that we will lovingly create/paint/decorate to give as a gift or to enjoy yourself. You will have options as to what you will make, so not everyone will make the same thing. Some vocabulary such as "primary/secondary colors" will be covered, along with some other simple art terms. Lastly, the importance of taking ownership of your work and giving it a name will be emphasized, as you are the creator and the masterpiece maker!
