Iyengar inspired beginning Yoga classes focus on proper alignment and breathing, as well as help students proceed safely and intelligently toward more advanced levels of study. Standing, seated, supine and prone poses are practiced as well as twisting postures. Beginning balancing poses and inversions may be introduced. Props like non-slip mats, straps, Yoga blankets, and Yoga blocks will be utilized.

Yoga Nidra is one of the most powerful tools that can be used to provide a person with a sense of calmness and relaxation. Yoga Nidra also remains one of the most accessible types of yoga to practice. Numerous mental and physical benefits come with the regular practice of this ancient method of meditation. Yoga Nidra is a yogic practice where the mind, spirit, and body experience a state of being between waking and sleeping. During this practice, it has been said that the body and mind enter a place where the dream state and reality can communicate. Yoga Nidra is performed in Shavasana (lying down) on a mat. The class will also incorporate some Yin Yoga asanas movements. One hour of Yoga Nidra makes up for 4 hours of lost sleep. It helps with insomnia and reduces stress, and anxiety. It also helps restore both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Students should bring: a yoga mat, one small square or round cushion, eye mask, and a small blanket or throw to cover the body.
