This course is for all-level writers contemplating a memoir. Break open your concepts of memory and identity, while illuminating the cathartic power of reflecting on your past. The course offers writing prompts to preserve memories from your entire life. It’s important to know not only how to write about your experiences, but also how to structure and translate them into an unforgettable memoir. Together, we will learn how to structure your stories, develop storytelling skills, while offering tips and techniques in order to best adapt your life stories and reflect in a chronological fashion. Students should bring a journal and writing tablet. Laptops are optional.

Persuasion is an incredibly powerful tool to have on your side, and by exploring these techniques you will better equip yourself for different situations. Without coercion or force, with persuasion, one is making an intentional effort to change another's mental state while the other person has some measure of freedom and choice. By leveraging different weapons of influence, we can encourage people to do things consciously and subconsciously. This interactive class provides an opportunity to further practice these principles of persuasion that not only empower you but also creates the awareness around your own decisions.

We are fortunate to have Ms. Rose as an instructor in two kinds of art classes this semester, as well as one Creative Writing class. Be ready to dive deep into your imagination, as you are guided into the Realm of Creativity. Prepare yourself for a mindful adventure, departing from ‘normalcy’ to another dimension of yourself – all without the use of external, worldly devices!
