Most artists spend years frustrated, erasing more than they draw, never quite capturing what they see. Whether you're attempting pencil portraits, charcoal portraits, the challenges remain the same. Successful portraits are the product of a sound method. Good results come from good decisions. Good decisions come in part from knowing what to do, what to look for, and in what sequence. We will go over a step-by-step system that takes the guesswork out of every stroke to create successful portraits. We will be working in pencil and charcoal for this class. Suggested supply list available and bring your own art supplies to class.

Learn to see within the objective world that we live in. A simple way to create objective and non-objective abstract art using colors, shapes, textures, and composition. This class is open to any media, wet or dry, that is designed to be applied to a 2-D surface. The art can be created from photo reference or from an object. The student may also choose an emotion or state of mind to illustrate. Consider putting love, happiness, friendship, life, birth etc. on canvas. Suggested supply list available and bring your own art supplies to class.

 

This is a fun watercolor class. The subjects are Arizona Plants, Landscape and Wildlife. You may also choose to add Pet Portraiture. We will use the trace and transfer method to aid you in recreating a drawing of your chosen subject. Drawing eye to hand or from imagination is also encouraged. Watercolor paint in tubes and watercolor pencils are preferred. Photo reference will be supplied on the Arizona subjects, however, if the student prefers to bring their own that is fine. If pet portraiture is your choice the student will want to supply their own photo reference.
