We all have a relationship with the natural world, but we don't always understand it. Natural processes are the foundation of our existence. This class will explore how humanity has defined “nature” and how each of us can perceive it for ourselves, and how we can better connect to the “non-human” world. Activities will include: 1) recording the experience of being in a natural setting and 2) identifying activities and making small choices in our everyday lives that enhance our connection to nature. We will learn to have a deeper relationship with “the land” and become inspired to protect it.
Please note: There is a field trip to Highlands Center for Natural History scheduled for the 2nd class meeting on Wed, 6/10/26.
