This course provides you with a practical understanding of how to create messages that cut through the clutter of today’s crowded media markets. The course will help you learn to notice which concepts are effective and which are likely to be ignored. You will work with a partner each week to solve a communication problem by creating a print ad, TV spot, or other advertising message, which will then be discussed in class the following week, to gain an understanding of how your peers feel your idea is communicating. The use of a “Creative Brief” will help you understand what to communicate about a product or service, serving as a foundation for the targeted advertising message.
