Participants will utilize strategies for integrating art into their curriculum; becoming adept at covering required curriculum while simultaneously utilizing visual language. Course content is based on contemporary Native American artwork; featuring artists selected for the relevance of their work to specific subjects in secondary education (including English, Social Studies, History, Science and Art) and supported by text documents and multi-media sources grounded in Common Core College and Career Ready Anchor Standards. Course content presented digitally through MDPLN. Participants will create content specific lesson plans showing curriculum adaptation and will engage in a peer development network.
Course meets online. Course is available for graduate credit only. Course is cross-listed with C&I 595.
