Community Education Visual Arts: Drawing   

In Drawing 2, you’ll continue to use your imagination, creativity, and perception through the practice of drawing. In this class, you’ll continue to learn more of the fundamentals of drawing: 3-dimensionality, light, shadow, proportions, details, and perspective. You’ll learn how to draw even more subjects, including nature, people, still lives, and animals.  You’ll be surprised at how quickly your skills develop as you observe and draw along with step-by-step class presentations, which make it easy to understand and put these techniques into practice. Once you learn these skills, you’ll find them becoming second nature, and you’ll significantly increase your creativity and your ability to represent the world around you. Drawing 2 is the sequel to Drawing 1, and you'll get a chance to learn a variety of additional drawing skills and subjects beyond what you learned in Drawing 1. Additionally, there will be a section on colored pencils in Drawing 2.

Have you ever wanted to draw in color? Colored pencils and oil pastels are wonderful media that combine the detail of drawing with the vibrant colors available in painting. In this class, learn the basic skills of colored pencils and oil pastels, and apply them to create beautiful, finished drawings. By developing skills and techniques with colored pencils and oil pastels, you can add a whole new dimension to your art exploration. They are easy to use and portable, and you can find sets with a wide variety of exciting colors. Colored pencils and oil pastels let you capture the vibrancy, detail, and colors in your subjects whenever and wherever you wish.
