Bring to Donna's first class: Paper towels and a watercolor palette. Palette available from Art and Frame in Sarasota, online from Cheap Joes, Jerry's Artarama, Dick Blick or through Amazon. Palette should be covered for watercolors. More "wells" on a palette allow you to add more colors over time. ACE will have some brushes, paints and watercolor paper for students to use at the first class.
Pigments – I like paints by the following companies: Holbein, Daniel Smith, and Mission best. Do not use student grade pigments such as Cotman, Academy, and Grumbacher. Small tubes, 5 ml are fine for Beginners but 15 ml tubes are more economical for those committed to watercolor.
Minimum required colors are: New Gamboge (or Nova), French Ultramarine, Cerulean Blue, Alizarin Crimson or Quin Pink, and Sap Green
Additional supplies will be discussed at first class meeting. Cost of supplies could be $100-$125, depending on where supplies are purchased & what you already own. This will be discussed at the first class.
