In this class, you are all that stands between a group of international hackers launching cyber attacks and world peace. Through a series of challenges, students will learn to apply tools used by professional digital forensics teams to crack codes and use encryption. Working in teams, you will collect clues, recover lost data, and explore the tools of the trade to become the next great cyber spy! Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Just like today's top artists, you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer. In this course, students will learn to produce digital music, record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks. No prior music experience is necessary. Student-created soundtracks will be available on a password-protected website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Learn how to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections, and how to question witnesses. Pull all your skills together at the end of the week as you participate in a final mock trial based on cases from past national and state-level Mock Trial competitions. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Cyber camps also promote responsible digital citizenship and help prepare young people for future academic and career opportunities in a rapidly growing and high-demand field.

    • Day 1: Basics of photography – learn to take great photos and frame shots. Learn how to edit them on your phone.
    • Day 2: Short story writing & poetry – combine imagination with writing skills.
    • Day 3: Blogging with video – tell stories digitally and post on the gallery iMacs for display.
    • Day 4: Create a final project that is inspired by the week's activity.

  • Clay for Kids

    This class explores making objects from clay that range from functional vessels and animals to sculptures. Students learn a variety of hand building techniques such as slab, coil and pinch and several methods of surface treatment and glazing. Some projects extend into mixed media. 

    In addition to being a fun and engaging activity, working with clay has many benefits for children. It helps to improve fine motor skills, encourages creativity and problem-solving, and promotes a sense of accomplishment and self-expression. 

    So if your child loves art and is eager to get their hands dirty, come join us for our Clay for Kids class and watch their creativity come to life!

Learn how to prepare a model for 3D printing and create a design protfolio to showcase your wrok! No prior experience is necessary, and 3D designs will be available on a passsword-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Each day, students will learn fun, age-appropriate songs from favorite Broadway and movie musicals while exploring the three key elements of performance—singing, acting, and choreography. Through teamwork, creativity, and plenty of practice, young performers will build confidence and stage presence as they bring each number to life. The week ends with a special performance for family and friends, showcasing everything they’ve learned in a joyful final presentation!

Toys become avatars to our imagination.  Utilizing the emerging digital technologies of ACC’s Hive Makerspace such as 3D printing, 3D scanning and laser cutting students will work together to build worlds, games and design characters. Students will come away from the class with an introduction to digital softwares which enable them to fabricate 3-dimensional toys and games to access their imagination.

Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years.
