    This course prepares learners to master the fundamentals and practical applications of artificial intelligence through the lens of CompTIA’s entry-level certification programs. Learners build a solid foundation in AI concepts, generative models, data handling, and the ethical, legal, and security implications of AI as well as skills in prompt engineering and critical evaluation of AI outputs. Upon successful completion, students earn CompTIA Competency Certificates (CompCerts) that validate their practical AI skills. This course is appropriate for learners who want to harness the power of AI in their workplaces, from making their work more efficient to developing new processes and automation. Explore the main components of a typical computer system and the basic elements of the Windows interface. Navigate in Windows Explorer, organize files and folders, search for items on a computer, and personalize Windows. Learn to use an Internet browser and explore tips for routine maintenance.

    Microsoft Excel Level 1 teaches some of the most essential introductory skills for using the Excel app.  Introductory topics include identifying parts of the Office user interface; entering, editing, and formatting entries; selecting cells and ranges; creating and modifying basic formulas; applying relative and absolute cell referencing in formulas, inserting charts and tables; creating a template; and sorting and filtering data.  Learners will be in a computer lab where they will be able to develop and apply skills.

    The A+ Job Accelerator Bootcamp is a short-term, intensive training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level IT support roles. The program provides hands-on instruction in hardware, software, networking, and security fundamentals aligned to the CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 certification exams. Participants build practical, job-ready skills through applied labs and guided instruction, ensuring they are prepared to both earn industry-recognized credentials and transition quickly into the workforce. This program is well-suited for individuals with foundational computer skills who are seeking a clear pathway into high-demand IT careers.

    What distinguishes this program is its direct alignment with employer needs and its emphasis on real-world experience. Curriculum has been developed in partnership with Denver Metro-area employers to reflect the skills required for entry-level IT roles. Participants gain experience working in simulated help desk environments, including ticketing systems and customer support scenarios, allowing them to practice troubleshooting and communication in a setting that mirrors the workplace. In addition, embedded Career Connections activities provide consistent exposure to employers through guest speakers, industry panels, and employer-developed content. Participants may also access job shadowing and micro-internship opportunities, creating multiple entry points to employment and strengthening their understanding of career pathways in IT.
