Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Welcome to Baylor University Extended Learning FAQs

Welcome to Baylor University Extended Learning, where we're committed to providing accessible, high-quality non degree (non credit) and workforce development opportunities to learners worldwide. We also offer developmental reading and other programs for K-12 students. Below are some frequently asked questions to help you navigate our programs:

Q. Is Baylor University’s Continuing Education now Extended Learning?

Yes, Baylor University's Continuing Education has transitioned to Extended Learning. This change reflects Baylor's broader commitment to education across various sectors, including K-12, higher education, and adult professional education. With Extended Learning, Baylor is offering more comprehensive educational opportunities, including customized corporate training and executive retreats to proactively meet the evolving needs of professionals and organizations. These efforts align with Baylor's overarching mission “to educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community."

Q. Why don’t my login credentials work when I attempt to access my account?

Your previous login credentials may not work because Baylor's Extended Learning has recently transitioned to CampusCE, a new catalog and student registration management system effective July 1, 2024. We've worked to enhance your user experience and provide more streamlined access to courses. To continue accessing our course offerings and registering for classes, please create a new account in our updated system at the CampusCE Sign In tab. This will ensure you have full access to the course catalog and other resources.

Q. How can I access my course records that predate the transition to the new system?

We've got you covered if you need to access your course records dating from before the July 1, 2024 system transition. Our Extended Learning team has diligently exported all records from the previous system, including transcripts, order history, and registration history. These records have been securely stored on Baylor's protected systems to ensure their confidentiality and accessibility.

To retrieve records you may need dating from before July 1, 2024, please contact us at extendedlearning@baylor.edu. We will assist you in accessing your prior records promptly and efficiently.

Q. Can I access the course content in Canvas - do my Canvas login credentials still work?

Yes, you can access the course content in Canvas. Your previous login credentials for Canvas should still work. Visit baylorce.instructure.com to log in and access your course materials. If you need assistance please contact us at extendedlearning@baylor.edu

Starting July 1, you will be able to access your Canvas course content through your CampusCE account on our website when you register for courses using the new system. This integration aims to streamline your learning experience and provide convenient access to all course resources in one place.

Q. Does Extended Learning award professional Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

Extended Learning does not directly award Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Eligibility for CEUs varies by course. Please consult the course description for information regarding the number of CEUs that may be available upon course completion prior to enrolling in the course - we also strongly recommend that you check with your affiliated organization to ensure that they will accept the course to award you CEUs. You can then submit your certficate of completion for coursework to the organization so that they may grant the CEUs.

Q. Are Extended Learning courses transferable into Baylor degree programs?

Extended Learning courses do not transfer into Baylor University degree programs. All Extended Learning courses are considered non-credit courses or non-degree programs and are designed to enhance your professional skills and credentials, or for K-12 students, to develop key skills such as reading. However, many Extended Learning offerings lead to professional certifications from national organizations or governing bodies. Additionally, you may be able to submit your certficate of completion for coursework to obtain continuing education units, depending on the organization.

Q. Does Extended Learning work with businesses and organizations to offer custom bundling and pricing of courses?

Yes, if you would like to discuss custom courses and pricing for groups of employees or members of your organization, please contact us at extendedlearning@baylor.edu. We will work with you to build a portfolio of courses that meet your strategic needs, whether delivered online, onsite, or via a combination of delivery modalities. We can also help you plan an executive or team retreat utilizing the beautiful Baylor campus and facilities.

Q. What is the refund or cancellation policy for Baylor University Extended Learning courses?

Refund and cancellation policies vary depending on the course or program. Please refer to the specific course details or contact us at extendedlearning@baylor.edu for assistance.
