Sketching in Oil Pastels NEW!

In this class, students will learn to use oil pastels, and work freely from landscape images provided in class. The emphasis will be on learning the oil pastel technique of blending and layering to create rich and colorful pastel drawings. The process will be that of the French masters as they sketched in oils. Students will learn to first simplify the shapes, separate them into a pattern of dark and light, and then build a greater, more colorful tonal range and suggestion of imagery. The class is well suited for the beginner as well as more experienced student.
