Chess: Beyond Beginner

Thanks to The Queen’s Gambit, right now chess is THE HOT TOPIC! This intermediate level series (how to play Beth Harmon to a draw) is appropriate for those who have a basic understanding of the rules and familiarity with the chess rating system. We will dive into what it takes to be a competitive player in this beautiful game! You’ll learn how you can improve your play and simultaneously grow your mind and develop skills such as problem solving, abstract thinking, concentration and memory enhancement. Instructor will host simultaneous exhibitions.

Please Note: This is an internet-based class that requires a device larger than a smart phone and a (free) lichess.org account. You should also be comfortable with Zoom (or it is recommended that you take our Zoom Made Simple workshop). In addition, if more than one adult in the household will be participating, each person needs to register separately and have their own device. This course is only open to adults 18 years and older (sorry, no exceptions).

Please be sure to register by the day before the class at the latest. You will receive an invitation email with a link to join the Zoom meeting. Click here for a tutorial on how to join a Zoom meeting.
