    SHiNE Dance Fitness mixes current hit music with original choreography for a fun, confidence-boosting, full-body workout experience. You don't have to be "a dancer" to dance with us. Come as your authentic self, and let the music and moves melt away your stress for a little while. The class is a perfect balance of cardio and toning, following a HIIT format.     For the player who is just starting to play tennis. This player has limited playing experience and is still working primarily on getting the ball into play. SPORTIME Lake Isle is lower Westchester's premier tennis destination and home to the John McEnroe Tennis Academy! On the grounds of the Lake Isle Country Club, it features eight indoor har-tru (green synthetic clay) tennis courts under three state-of-the-art air structures and a 5,000 square-foot clubhouse on two levels with superior viewing.


    PLEASE NOTE:

    • Bring your own racket (loaner rackets available upon request). Tennis balls are provided.
    • Sport attire and tennis shoes are required. (Running shoes are ok, but tennis shoes are preferred.) 
    • As this is an outdoor class for part of the session, please check your email in case of rain or potential inclement weather for class cancellation.
    • If class is canceled for any reason, make-up dates will be added on as necessary; we are unable to offer refunds or credit if you are not able to attend a scheduled make-up. Please take this into consideration before registering.

These classes are great for meeting others who are interested in improving their game. New golfers can learn how to play the game in a low-stress environment. Experienced golfers can make changes to their game or just keep it fresh for the season.

Topics will vary and range from hobbies, food, travel, current events, and cultural comparisons. It is a great opportunity to become more fluent in French!

    Have you ever wanted to write a memoir but didn’t know where to start? In this workshop writer and educator, Frank Ingrasciotta will guide you on how to bring your life stories to the page. Storytelling is our most ancient art form and everyone has a story in us that wants to be told. When powerful storytelling resonates, it creates shared experiences of commonality that bonds us as a community. In this four-session memoir writing class, we will examine various aspects of storytelling. Through writing exercises, we will explore the tools of your personal expression that brings writing to life.

    Whether you’re brand new to chess or looking to sharpen your skills, this class is for you. Beginners will learn the fundamentals of the game, while all students will explore key tactics for winning material and delivering checkmate. Players will also deepen their understanding of opening principles and the basics of positional play. The instructor will meet each student at their level and provide individualized challenges to help everyone improve. Instructor Bio: Lawrence Johnson is an experienced instructor and chess player who has been involved with the game throughout his life. Prior to joining the NSCF, he worked in New York City schools for many years. Lawrence has experience teaching adults and children alike. His personal highlight over the board was beating Grandmaster Svetozar Gligoric in a simul, when the Yugoslav Grandmaster was at the height of his powers!
