School of Rock, in collaboration with Clark Continuing Education, presents a class designed to bridge the gap between ""I can't"" and ""I'm with the band."" This isn't your typical sit-down lecture, it's a high-impact, 90-minute weekly workshop held in professional rehearsal studios. Whether you're looking to find your voice for the first time or simply want to learn how to belt out a song without losing your breath, this course gives you the tools to command the stage.

The Youth Chamber Orchestra of Vancouver nurtures the development of personal responsibility, community, and mutual interdependence through music performance leading to the highest standards of musicianship, personal preparation, empathy and human development, as we grapple with the content and context of musical works. Everyone has the right to make music, and everyone needs music in their lives. The week-long program focuses on individual artistic growth and ensemble collaborative enhancement, by rehearsing and performing orchestral repertoire under the leadership of Dr. Rafael Rodirguez, (Director of Orchestral Activities, Clark College).

Under the guidance of a Grammy-winning guitarist, learn the basics of how to play the guitar. Focus on tuning, basic chords, picking, strumming, note reading, and chord progressions. As you progress you will add more notes and chords as well as more complex rhythms and strumming patterns. Ultimately you will play songs as a group. Bring your guitar to class. Ages 16 and over.
