Our dedicated faculty and staff are ready to take you through our six-week comprehensive curriculum. The objective of Chattanooga State’s Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program is to impress upon the students the necessity for safety in all aspects of earth moving heavy equipment operations and procedures. Each Chattanooga State Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program uses the latest equipment and specific OSHA safety standards and manufacturer’s requirements.
The NCCER Curriculum provided in the classroom is reinforced with hands-on application sessions in the field. In this six-week program, students will gain significant and useful skills and will leave with a stronger understanding and appreciation of the requirements and responsibilities of Heavy Equipment Operators.
Equipment you will need to provide includes: Steel Toe Boots and Carhartt or equivalent Cover-alls
Chattanooga State will provide: Work Gloves, Safety Glasses, Ear Protection, a Hard Hat and all required books. Students must be at least 18 years old and must have either a high school diploma or GED.
Participants must complete at least 220 of the total 240 hours of classroom and laboratory time. Participants must also pass all written examinations in the NCCER curriculum, and demonstrate competence, as defined by the curriculum, on each piece of heavy equipment.
