Confined Space Entry & Basic Rescue

Permit-Required Confined Space Entry & Basic Rescue (2-Day Certification Course)

16 Contact Hours – Classroom, Hands-On Skills, and Certification Evaluations

This intensive two-day course provides comprehensive training in safe and compliant entry into permit-required confined spaces, following OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.146. Designed for maintenance personnel, industrial technicians, safety professionals, emergency responders, and anyone required to perform or oversee confined space entry operations, this program blends classroom instruction with hands-on, scenario-based practice.

Participants will learn to identify confined space hazards, perform atmospheric monitoring, use required PPE and entry equipment, and execute proper entrant, attendant, and supervisor duties. Students also receive practical instruction in rope skills, knot-tying, equipment inspection, and basic confined-space rescue techniques. The second day culminates in written and practical evaluations, including a full permit-required entry and rescue evolution that must be completed with 100% accuracy.

Graduates of this course will be prepared to safely participate in or supervise confined space entries and meet employer and regulatory training requirements for permit-required confined space operations.

Recommended Follow-On Training: Participants are strongly encouraged to continue their safety training with the American Heart Association (AHA) HeartSaver CPR/AED/First Aid course offered following this training date, as CPR and emergency response skills are highly recommended to accompany confined space entry and rescue operations. You can purchase both at the same time.
