Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Workforce Development will host a complimentary customer service workshop on Monday, August 10, for members and friends of the Lauderdale County Chamber of Commerce. The program titled “How to Provide Top-Notch Customer Service,” will be held from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Chamber office, located at 123 S. Jefferson St., in Ripley, Tennessee. Workshop presenter Matthew Webb will share practical ways to better understand your customers by focusing on the people behind each interaction. He will discuss how to recognize emotions such as frustration, confusion, and urgency, and how to respond to the customer. He will also examine the difference between customers’ needs and wants so you can identify what must be resolved while still creating a positive experience. Additionally, he will also explore how to handle customer problems by staying calm, listening before responding, and focusing on solutions rather than arguments. Using the H.E.A.R.D. Model, you will learn how to turn difficult situations into opportunities to build trust, strengthen customer relationships, and encourage long-term loyalty. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch; drinks and dessert will be provided. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.
