Finding Healing Connections in Ireland's Thin Places (2-Week Class 10/22, 10/29) (Thursdays, 5:30pm-7:00pm CT)    NEW!

The ancient Celts believed there were liminal places where the boundary between the physical and spiritual worlds was porous, or thin. In Ireland, thin places are sprinkled across the country, and generally fall into three categories: megalithic sites, monastic or religiously based sites, or locations of exquisite natural beauty, usually where two or more elements converge. The veil between this world and the otherworld is believed to be most porous at Samhain (pronounced saa-wn), the beginning of the winter season and the festival from which Halloween originated. In this course, we’ll explore the folklore and traditions of Samhain and other Celtic beliefs, as well as virtually visit many of these thin places and discuss how we can seek out and incorporate the concept of thin places in our own lives here, to find connection, grounding, and healing from grief and other types of trauma. Class size limit: 98.
