As we move into a more open and mainstream life again, we still need to be mindful of the physical and mental toll the last 18 months has caused. Without communication from a source that is trusted to lessen psychological impact, negative emotions may lead to harmful behaviors. People in crisis tend to have more unexplained physical and mental symptoms that are often vague and may mask actual treatable issues. This can confound the effort to identify those people who need immediate care. The new research is telling us as we return to our new normalcy we need to be vigilant in performing good assessments of individuals as they return to health-care settings and the world outside. These sessions will look at common pitfalls in managing crisis and how to move into a healthy new world.
