Journey to the Amazon (In-Person)   

Why is Amazonia so diverse? To answer this question we will explore prehistory, civilizations, shamanism and cuisine. We will also look at the staggering linguistic diversity of the Amazon basin and the Andean foothills. This course will feature documentary footage and first-hand video experience as well as the latest research on the region’s species and peoples. Students will walk away with a sense of the Amazonian environment, history and living tradition as well as the instructor’s first-hand experience.
