You Oughta be Taking Pictures (5-week class) (begins 10/19)
(Thursdays, 5:30pm-7:30pm)
NEW!
The aim of this class is to help you see photographically - which is the key to taking good pictures. We'll cover the basics - how cameras do their magic, types of cameras, features and accessories. We'll demystify terms like megapixels, dpi, f/stops and more. We'll look at the history of photography, so you can see how the pioneers paved the way for smartphones and how acclaimed photographers approached their work. Most importantly, we'll discuss the elements that distinguish a great photo from an ordinary photo - light and lighting, composition, design, framing, color and more. You'll be invited to participate in weekly assignments demonstrating a specific aspect of photography - and then we'll discuss you specific work (voluntary). The class is structured around weekly topics - but friendly and fun. And you will become a better photographer by the time it's over. Class size limit: 17.
