This course is a discussion of the basic science of the changing climate, including possible problems and ideas to limit their effects. It is built around four questions: Is it getting warmer? What’s causing it? Why should we care? What could we do about it anyway? We begin with a review of how the climate works and the relation between the climate and the weather. The course requires no more than a basic understanding of high school science and a willingness to be curious. Class size limit: 110. Suggested Reading: "The Climate Casino - Risk, Uncertainty, and Economics for a Warming World" By William Nordhaus.
