In today’s diet-obsessed, weight-focused culture, knowing what, when and how much to eat has become overwhelming for many. In this course you will learn a different, more peaceful approach to eating and food, one where you are the expert on your health and your body. Food doesn’t have to be stressful or restrictive. You will learn how to resist the lure of dieting; recognize and trust your body’s signals for hunger and fullness; find satisfaction and pleasure with food and let go of the guilt associated with eating; how to cope with emotions without using food; see physical activity as enjoyable instead of a burden; respect your body as it is today; and discover how to honor your health with gentle nutrition. We will discuss these core principles of Intuitive Eating in detail, and through lectures and experiential learning you will learn practical ways to integrate the principles into your life, ultimately giving you the tools to have a more peaceful and sane relationship with food and your body.
