Interpreting Contemporary Art (4-Week Class 2/19, 2/26, 3/4, 3/11), (Wednesdays, 2:00pm-4:00pm)    NEW!

Interpreting Contemporary Art will explore the critical tools and methods used in the world of contemporary art (ca. 1950 - present). Through lectures, in-class activities and group visits to the FSU Museum of Fine Arts, we will address the core concepts of art criticism, together with principles of effective description, interpretation and evaluation of art works that may seem difficult to understand or appreciate. Students will gain confidence in their ability to find real meaning and relevance in abstract, conceptual and nontraditional forms of art. Class size limit: 110.
