Why We Love the Books We Love: Storytelling and Neuroscience (4-week class, 2/20, 2/27, 3/5, 3/12, Thursdays, 11:00am-1:00pm)    NEW!

Ever wondered why some books draw you in, while others fail to engage you? In this class, we’ll talk about the fundamentals of good storytelling, the science of how our brains are literally wired for stories, and why some books are more engaging than others. The course will include lively discussions and is intended for writers and readers alike, with writers discovering how to tell more powerful stories and readers learning how to explain what they love – or don’t love – in a book and why. So, whether looking to improve your own story, to have more fun at your next book club meeting, or simply to better appreciate what you read, this is the class for you. Class size limit: 18.

Suggested Reading: Reread one of your favorite books so you can add to the discussions and help us appreciate a book you love.
