Always wondered where that bus was going and how you could take it to the places you want to go? StarMetro and Florida’s Safe Mobility for Life Coalition are partnering together to help you answer that question! The Safe Transit for Life Workshop was designed specifically for older adults to help educate on the benefits of using public transit as a safe and reliable option to get around your community. Learn about StarMetro, Tallahassee’s public transit system. What neighborhoods does it serve? When and how often does it run? How much does it cost? Share what you think the system could better to serve Tallahassee’s older residents! Plus learn more about how to maintain mobility independence, beyond driving from the Safe Mobility for Life Coalition.
Team members from StarMetro and Safe Mobility for Life will provide all the answers and more!
A 1-hour in-class workshop will take place at the Leroy Collins Main Library followed by a walking tour of the C.K. Steel Get Plaza. Get a complimentary ride to Cascades Park for the Florida Department of Transportation’s Mobility Week kickoff event and put the education into action! Contact: Marie Clewis, marieknclewis@gmail.com.
