She served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, chairing the Human Rights Committee, resulting in the creation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A colorful presentation carries listeners from Irving's life in New York City to the Hudson Valley, with forays into government service and, ultimately, writing. Woven into this presentation are folktales that may well have shaped the author's passion. We'll close with a retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow!
