The Baker & the Candlestick Maker: Hand Pies & Woodturning

A well-loved rolling pin is a key ingredient in any baker’s kitchen. This unique craft combo class pairs learning to make homemade pies with crafting the tools that make them possible. Students will spend half their class time in the kitchen with Kirsten Wisniewski, learning to make two different hand-raised pies from scratch, exploring fun flavors and decorative options. The other half of the class time will be spent in North House’s woodshop with Cooper Ternes, where students will learn to power up the lathe and turn classic pie-baking tools like custom rolling pins and pie dollies. This beginner-friendly class will be a memorable exploration of new skills and flavors. Students can expect to eat well and will leave class with the pies and tools they made, as well as recipes for more baking at home.

Dietary note: this class is not suitable for those who are looking to cook without gluten.

A materials fee for wood and food will be due at the time of class; due to fluctuation in food costs, we estimate $75-$100 as a likely range.
