Crossbody Saddle Bag

Learn basic leatherwork skills while making a shoulder bag perfect for everyday carrying needs. The design of this mid-sized bag references vintage equestrian saddlery. In this course, students will learn basic leatherwork skills like choosing a hide, basic wet molding, applying hardware, leather care, and sewing with a traditional 2-needle saddle stitch. The result will be a beautiful and sturdy leather bag that will gradually deepen to a rich amber color.

Physical Ability/Skills Needed: This process requires steady hands with reasonable strength and stamina, and enough shoulder strength to hit tools hard with a mallet.
