Many of us have moved beyond cheap fashion: we want our own original fabric and pattern. We want to make it ourselves. Yet many were never taught (or have long forgotten) their sewing skills. Whether drawn by a desire for better fit, more original style, or sustainability, sewing has come back.
In this class, students will learn (or refresh) basic sewing skills, including pattern layout and cutting, basic construction, and finishing techniques. Students will leave the class with 1-2 finished garments, and also the skills and confidence to embark on further sewing projects.
Students can expect to pay $40-50 on materials they bring to class.
Students aged 10+ may register for this course independently. Students aged 8-9 may register with a full-paying adult. The youth student will receive a 25% intergenerational discount; call to register.
