Moving beyond the most basic sewing skills (such as pattern layout and sewing simple seams). There’s so much to learn—more than can be tackled in one course. In this workshop-style class, students will learn more advanced skills—setting in sleeves, sewing facings and pockets, and doing garment closings, such as buttonholes and zippers—from their own projects and as the instructor gives input on others’ projects. In other words, this course can be taken multiple times! Simple alterations for sizing will also be included.
This course is open to those with introductory (or years-ago) sewing experience.
Students can expect to pay $40-$50 on materials that they will purchase and bring to class.
Students ages 10+ may register for this course independently. Students ages 8+ may register with a full-paying adult. The youth student will receive a 25% intergenerational discount; call to register.
