California State Parks preserve and protect our state's outstanding natural and cultural resources and create opportunities for outdoor recreation. The Bidwell-Sacramento River State Park preserves a disappearing natural resource, the riverine habitat, along the Sacramento River and Big Chico Creek. On this excursion, we will meet with park staff to explore riparian areas along the river in various stages of restoration and learn how healthy river ecosystems reduce flooding, improve water quality, and provide habitat for birds, animals, and pollinators.
