This opera, performed at Ted Mann Hall April 23 - 26, begins at the onset of the French Revolution when a nobleman's daughter in fear of the turmoil, joins a convent. She is torn between her duty to her family and the convent. Revolutionaries attack the convent and threaten to expel the nuns who take a vow of martyrdom.
