20480 OLLI Scholar Bug Me! Minnesota’s Insects   

Do you want to be able to identify and distinguish between different types of insects in Minnesota? Have you ever wondered about all the ecosystem services insects contribute to the world? Have you heard about “saving the bees” or invasive insects and don’t know what to make of it all? In this course we’ll cover insect basics and identification, insects’ roles in Minnesota ecosystems and current trending topics in insect science.

Recommended: Jeffrey Hahn, Insects of the North Woods (Kollath+Stensaas Publishing, 2009)
