30889 Understanding Homelessness
We’ve heard about homelessness as an urgent and growing problem for many years. We may have driven past a “tent village” or people with signs asking for money at freeway entrances. Who is homeless and how did they lose their housing? Is anyone helping them? Is there a plan and is it working? This course will explore the causes of homelessness, people’s barriers to exiting homelessness, and what is being done to help them get and keep housing. The class will include speakers who are currently working in the field.
