10725 Music for Crowning Moments

In anticipation of the upcoming coronations of Charles III and Camilla on May 6, we’ll explore the centuries’ worth of music that has been written for similar auspicious state occasions. Handel’s Coronation Anthems, including the well-known "Zadok the Priest," are a natural starting point, but we’ll also leave the United Kingdom to discover lesser-known music written as other monarchs ascended their thrones. No need to be musically experienced—or an Anglophile—to enjoy this course.
