50070 Architectural Tour of Minneapolis Main Campus

Major campus buildings will be visited and discussed from the perspective of historical past and innovative present use: Rapson Hall, Engineering Building, Bruinks Hall, and turn-of-the-century Pillsbury Hall. The morning visit includes Scholars Walk and Northrup Hall. Lunch (participants’ expense) and conversation in the Campus Club in Art Deco Coffman Union. The tour will conclude with a visit to Frank Geary’s Weisman Art Museum. Class will meet in McNamara Alumni Center, 200 SE Oak Street, Minneapolis, site of the original stadium holding a small collection of U of M artifacts.
