30920 Lillie's Stories: The History of Gibbs Farm

Much of what we know about the Gibbs Farm, Ramsey Cty, is grounded in stories of one of its first residents, Lillie Belle Gibbs. Drawing on historical research and stories from Grasshoppers in My Bed, Lillie Belle Gibbs - Minnesota Farm Girl, 1877 by Terry Swanson, this course will focus on local history, why it's relevant, and why we tell it. Both sessions are at the Gibbs Farm and will include a tour of the historic Gibbs farmhouse; wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Free parking is available off Cleveland Avenue.
