Paul was key to the communities he founded, but later was described by many who never really knew him. Participants will receive chapters from Paul Found in His Letters for the basis for each class. We will look at the differences between what Paul wrote and how he functioned. His roots were in Judaism: he never became a Christian. One session will be devoted to the one short period in time when he was in Damascus. In another session we will explore what it might have meant for a man known as Saul to choose the name Paul when he understood Jesus as Messiah.
