The course explores the history of the guitar and important guitarists throughout the past. The course begins with the guitar's predecessors such as the lute, vihuela, and theorbo, and ends with the Spanish guitar and its most recent transformations: acoustic and electric guitars. The course features a historical part presented in a fun way with images and video examples. The historical part is supported by an interactive side in which students are invited to explore several instruments including the Baroque lute, romantic guitar, classical, acoustic, gypsy jazz, and electric guitars.
