Before widespread international travel, personal computers, and the internet, one of the major––and most enjoyable––ways to learn about one's planet was to attend a world's fair or exposition. For the price of admission, one could "travel " the world by visiting scores of pavilions and exhibitions hosted by an array of countries and experience their exotic displays. Fairs also showcased new inventions and mankind's technological progress, resulting in educational, eye-opening experiences. In general, fairs presented an optimistic view of the present and future. Best of all, they were fun.
First session is on Zoom. Second session will be a tour of the exhibit from Noon - 1:!5 PM at Rapson Hall, 89 Church St SE, Minneapolis, MN 5545.
