10765 OLLI SCHOLAR Makings of a Memoir

Makings of a Memoir, will focus on helping students tap into their past life experiences and write about favorite chapters of their lives. In this course, students will read excerpts of well regarded memoirs by famous authors like Maya Angelou. Students will then learn the basics of writing, to properly structure their pieces. Finally, students will freely write excerpts of their own lives and have their fellow classmates workshop them. The end goal after the seven week course is for each student to have a minimum of three well-written chapters about various happy moments from their lives.
