10766 Great Photographers – On Civil Rights

Mark the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington by delving into the works of civil rights era photographers. The works of Bruce Davidson, Gordon Parks, Ernest C. Withers, Carrie Mae Weems, and others will spotlight civil rights issues in the United States: the equal rights of each citizen to liberty and equality; the rights to work, vote, own property, and participate in daily life. The photographic art studied will span from the nineteenth century to present.
